For children: the short version
- Your parent set up Habit Heroes for you.
- We keep your first name, your animal picture, and the tasks you tick.
- Your parent can see your ticks, your points and your cards. They can change your list.
- We don't ask where you live, your school, your birthday or your photo.
- Nobody outside your family can see your list.
- If something worries you, talk to your parent. You can also call Childline free on 0800 1111.
Who we are
Habit Heroes is run by Designerfist, in High Wycombe, United Kingdom. We decide how your data is used. That makes us the "controller" under UK data law. Questions: info@designerfist.com.
What we collect
| About you (the parent) | Your email address and password. We never see your password. It is stored scrambled. |
|---|---|
| About your children | Their first name, and the animal picture and colour you pick. Also their tasks, ticks, approvals and points. Plus any red or green cards you give, and the rewards they are working toward. |
| Your settings | Currency, what a point is worth, and prayer times. Whether pocket money shows, and whether brothers and sisters can see each other's points. Your parent PIN is stored scrambled, so even we can't read it. |
| Pocket money | The amount you mark as paid each week. No money moves through the app. You pay your child yourself. |
| Your plan | Whether you are on the Free or Family plan. Also a reference number from our payment provider. We never see your card. |
| Use | When you were last active. This keeps the service running and safe. |
We don't ask for children's surnames, dates of birth, photos, schools or locations.
Why we use it
- To run Habit Heroes for you: your lists, points and plan. We need this to give you the service you signed up for (the law calls this "contract").
- To send account emails: confirming your email and resetting your password.
- To tell you about the Family plan: at most two short emails. One comes before a free trial ends. One comes a week or more after you join on the Free plan. Every email has a "Stop these emails" link. One click and we never send them again (the law calls this "legitimate interests").
- To keep it safe: stopping misuse and fixing problems (also "legitimate interests").
Children's details are added by a parent. They are only used to run that family's list. We never use them for marketing, and we never show them to anyone outside the family.
Who else handles it
We use a few trusted companies to run the service. They only use your data to do this job for us.
| Supabase | Stores your account and lists. The database is in Frankfurt, Germany. |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts the website and app. |
| Stripe (shown as "Link" at checkout) | Takes Family plan payments and handles tax. Stripe sells the plan for us. It has its own privacy policy for payment details. |
| Resend | Sends our emails. |
Some of these companies are based in the United States, or use systems there. When data leaves the UK, they use the safeguards UK law requires, such as approved contract terms.
There are no adverts on the site or in the app, and no tools that follow what you do. Our fonts load from our own site, so no visitor details go to anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep it while your account is open. If you remove a child in the app, their details and history are deleted straight away. You can delete your whole account yourself. Go to Settings in the app and tap "Delete my account", or use our delete page. Everything is deleted straight away, and any Family plan stops. If you email us instead, we delete it within 30 days. Our payment provider keeps payment records for as long as tax law requires.
Cookies and storage
The app keeps you logged in by storing a small key on your device. The app needs this to work, so we don't ask first. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe's checkout pages set their own cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data. You can also object to how we use it. Email info@designerfist.com and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
